Dixon, Catherine (2018) Letterpress and design: educational pioneers in the trade territories of typography. In: Letterpress: past, present and future, 19-20 July 2018, Centre for Printing HIstory at the University of Leeds.

Type of Research: Conference, Symposium or Workshop Item
Creators: Dixon, Catherine
Description:

A peer-reviewed paper acepted at the 2-day AHRC network event: Letterpress: past, present and future. This paper argued that in challenging the existing trade orthodoxies a series of educational pioneers used letterpress to establish an alternative model for the typographic training of a designer, and that this model quite considerably predates current exemplars of post-digital hands-on learning.
