The sub-theme was 'Rodin and Britian' and the three year research project began with a list of 500 contacts in Britain during his lifetime. Special themes were the relationship between the Egyptian, Greek and Assyrian sculpture in the British Museum and the Victor Hugo bust and monument. Lampert wrote the introduction, two chapters and most of the entries for the catalogue (distributed by Thames & Hudson).
