|Type of Research:||Art/Design Item|
'A Forest of Signs' is an ongoing international, interdisciplinary research project.
|Additional Information (Publicly available):||
Photographic, moving image and sound installations exploring practices of space and temporality in relation to landscape and place.
Early training in sculpture and photography has developed into a practice exploring representations of space and temporarility through photography, moving image and sound. Consistent concerns include theories of visuality; duration and spatiality, ontopologies of place and the relationship between the ‘process’ of work and its shaping through social and spatial context. ‘A Play in Time’, a recent double screen film (2008) explores the practices of space and experiences of intimacy within the public space of a park. Current research includes a group research project ‘ A Forest of Signs: Imaging Trees in the Contemporary Urban Environment' and 'Shifting Terrains', an ongoing series of works exploring a maritime coastline through image and sound.
