Global Threads, Asian Textiles and Fashion

Two images from Fernandes’s photographic series ‘Empire Line’ have been purchased by the Harris Museum and Art Gallery, Preston, for their Photography and New Media permanent collections. The two images will be displayed in the exhibition Global Threads, Asian Textiles and Fashion which is part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad programme ‘Stories of the World.’

In August 2011 Gavin mentored local Preston students in art-direction, fashion styling and fashion photography as part of their co-curatorial engagement in preparation for the aforementioned exhibition.
