Val Williams’ text places Meadows in context of cultural moves and social mores of the 1970s and 80s, as well as narrating the history of independent photography at this time.
The photographs were selected by Val Williams and the text explores not only independent photography in the UK during the 1970s and 80s, but also places Meadows’ work in the context of broadcasting, oral history and arts funding, and also within the context of the UK counterculture.
