Personal stories

Lomas, Clare (2010) Personal stories. In: Hand Made Tales: Women and Domestic Crafts Study Days, 12-13 November 2010, The Women's Library, London Metropolitan University. (Unpublished)

Type of Research: Conference, Symposium or Workshop Item
Creators: Lomas, Clare
Description:

An informal discursive presentation which considers the value of using a personal family “archive” – objects, documents and personal stories – and the contribution these make to the field of dress and textiles. It reflects on how the personal can reflect the collective experience and how such material can often “fill gaps” where conventional research overlooks the everyday.
