Description:

Kuball invited authors to respond to his multi-media installation project, Platon’s Mirror, which has been touring since 2010. This chapter takes the starting point of Kuball’s practice – based on ‘public prepositions’ that intend to ‘initiate dialogue rather than create sculptural objects’ – and reflects upon a number of historical precursors to Kuball’s use of mirror play, refractive surfaces and layered processes of mediation in close dialogue with the sensorial experience of Kuball’s original installation work.
