Description:

Dilys Williams was invited by Friends of the Earth to speak on fashion and sustainability alongside Tony Jupiter (then Director of Friends of the Earth), and Marcus Dusautoy (mathematician laureate). Dilys Williams shared her work and views on the ecology of our planet and the impact fashion can and does have on our environment, tackling questions from the public on fashion and sustainability.

The exhibition was presented in partnership with Friends of the Earth, who encouraged visitors to pose questions about the state of the world. These formed Poison and Antidote, an installation to provide inspiration for an event on Saturday 29 March 2008, bringing together a host of artists, thinkers and activists.

More information about the exhibition:

Cornelia Parker presents her interview with renowned writer and theorist Noam Chomsky who addresses the failings of government, corporations and the media to take responsibility for the ecology of our planet. He urges us to change our lifestyles and bring about socio-economic change. Though Parker fears that the planet may not be able to sustain human life by the end of this century, her work prompts reflection on our collective responsibilities and possible solutions.
