Welcome to the third issue of "The Written Stuff".

This publication is the result of two academic terms worth of weekly meetings, during which students wrote their stories following the format of some classic writing workshop exercises, as well as some that were created for this group. My job is to understand what kind of energy the students bring to the table and moderate the conversations. That's the only way for me to feel useful. It is kind of my students to support me and pretend that they need me to organise some activity for them, when it's pretty obvious to me that they would do perfectly well, if not better, without me.

The conversations that happen around our table, happen in various way. They are both written and spoken. Whatever way they begin, they are distilled into written narratives, mostly fictional, but heavily inspired by real events that were important parts of the students' lives. A student in the workshop told me that they had decided to get rid of all their possessions and to spend their money and efforts to only live incredible experiences. At some point they also felt the need to turn those experiences into something tangible, so that they could share with others what they had learnt...
