Motion sickness during parabolic flights

Golding, John and Paillard, Aurora and Denise, Pierre (2014) Motion sickness during parabolic flights. In: 6th International Congress of Medicine in Space and Extreme Environments (ICMS), 16-19th September, Berlin, Germany.

Type of Research: Conference, Symposium or Workshop Item
Creators: Golding, John and Paillard, Aurora and Denise, Pierre
Description:

Space sickness affects between 50-70% of astronauts in the first 24-72h in space. Zero-G Parabolic flight mimics the weightlessness of space. Although the exposure to altered force environment in parabolic flight is much shorter than in space, motion sickness (MS) is a significant problem for some fliers. The aim of this study was to assess the extent of this problem and to investigate predictors and moderating factors.
