This workshop and lecture featured as one of the events that made up the 'Who Do We Think We Are' Academic Support festival at UAL and was delivered at CSM. The case is made for the use of randomness and chance in the academic essay as informed by various contemporary sources and techniques taken from the Dada art movement. The session included various writing experiments and discussion and debate about the application of cut-ups in formal as well as creative practice.
