This paper is part of my current research project “ A Forest of Signs: Trees and the Urban Imaginary” a photographic project currently in progress. The paper is a dialogue between modernist tropes of visuality and ereferences to the arboreal employed in Virginia Woolfs writings and my own photographic project which in part, is based in Bloomsbury.
