A Divided Glance: A Dialogue Between the Photographic Project “A Forest of Signs” and the Figure of the Tree in Virginia Woolf’s Writing

This paper is part of Susan Trangmar's research project “A Forest of Signs: Trees and the Urban Imaginary”, a photographic project currently in progress. This paper is a dialogue between modernist tropes of visuality and references to the arboreal employed in Virginia Woolf's writings and Trangmar's own photographic project which in part, is based in Bloomsbury.
