As an artist my practice has shifted from a studio-based practice directed toward the production of art objects and gallery related installations to a world-based practice, which explores the potential of the public domain as site for an art practice and its dissemination. I approach a subject matter through a series of interrelated interventions

AtelierTransPal was initiated in a residency at La Caserne*, where I researched the artist’s studio as artwork and how to put this private space and activity into the public domain. Performative, film based and architectural solutions were explored and first presented in the context of a group exhibition “presentez armes” La Caserne, France (2003)*.

AtelierTransPal (2006) continued collaboratively with Berlin based architects AAS where a Mobile and Modular artist’s studio based on the conceptual and physical model of the Pallet was prototyped (http://www.gonzalezhaase.com)*, but subsequently moved from architectural/design issues to consider the wider frame of an art practice and its products as the coming together of 3 archetypal “economies”: of the Artist (the free individual), of the Tate (the art institution and Culture), and the Pallet (world economy and materialism)*.

AtelierTransPal then became a commissioned dvd contributing to Visiting Arts’ contribution to the European Project MOBILE.HOME*, and then a monumental installation/ performance collaboration set in London, as part of “Paris Calling” an season of contemporary art from France presented in London (involving, inter alia, the Tate Modern, V&A, Frieze art Faire, MOMA Oxford (2006).*

Finally, Ateliertranspal has become a commissioned video installation at the MAC/VAL (Musée d’art contemporain du Val-de-Marne, Paris, France)*, showing as part of Zone de Productivité Concerté , which bringing together a group of international artists exploring the relation between art and economy (2007).

See the AtelierTransPal web site (www.ateliertranspal.org) for a full account of the work.
