Sound Studies: Art, Experience, Politics

For the 3 day conference Sound Studies; Art, Experience, Politics drew attention to the international growth of sound studies. It aimed to facilitate dialogue between academics and artists/practitioners across the many disciplinary areas of sound studies. While on my residency at Santa Fe Arts Institute, I was selected to be Artist in Residence for the duration of the conference. I exhibited Sanctuary, and also presented my practice. I spoke alongside sound experts including Ernst Karel, Dr Steve Goodman (AUDINT), Prof Cathy Lane, and Prof Steven O Connor.

Established at the University of Cambridge in 2001, the Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH) works actively with the Schools and Faculties across the University undertaking collaborations that cross faculties and disciplines in order to stimulate fresh thinking and dialogue in and beyond the humanities and social sciences and to reach out to new collaborators and new publics.
