Description:

A performative essay on empty space, which uses 30 images of empty space sourced from 30 invited artists as a starting point for the investigation of the different ways images of empty space conjure a set of associations and projections. The text focuses on the relationship between image and text-as-image, approaching writing as a 'visual mode' with a potential to conjure mental images.
