The Street Enters the House

During the winter and spring of 2003 the outcomes of a new body of practice based research was exhibited firstly in Holland at Gist Galerie, Brummen and subsequently at Pepperprojects, Berlin. The sculptures and drawings on show expanded and consolidated research into pictorial wall sculpture, architectural model-making (maybe better described as psychological model-making) and the juxtaposition of the everyday built environment with archaeological ‘deep-time’. This is a term used to describe the passing of time as concretised in the physical stratification of the compressed civilisations underfoot.

This body of work pictured pedestrian islands and underground stations juxtaposed with ‘deep-time’, that is, the earth on and in which the sites are built.
