Description: | NEST was a promenade performance developed as a result of a three year residency pedagogic research programme that begun as Lie of the Land. Exploring questions of community, process and performance, Cole devised, managed and directed a team of artists from different media to work with communities within and on the edges of Briscoe Primary School and Nursery in Basildon. NEST resulted in a performed installation event, where the audience was led by child 'twitchers' around the school, encountering fourteen performances including an 'airing cupboard' of mothers, a group f baking 'rats in the kitchen' and a corridor or broken eggshells. |
