Description: | An essay for the first solo exhibition of Teresy Gierzynska's work, held at Zacheta - National Gallery of Art, Warsaw. The show was curated by Joanna Korjak, and entitled 'About Her: Teresa Gierzynska'. The catalogue edited by Korjak, included Joanne Morra's essay 'Her Time'. In it, Morra constructs a conversation between Gierzynska's photographic practice, and women's auto-fictive writing as a means of interrogating the complexity of women's personal, emotional, psychic and political everyday lives. The conversation includes the voices of Soraya Chemaly, Ann Cvetkovich, Ursula Le Guin, Deborah Levy, Audre Lorde, Gabrielle Roth, Joan W. Scott, Virginia Woolf, and Teresa Gierzynska. |
