Description: | 'Disappearing Act' was part of a wider series of black and white performance photographs. In this instance a new image was made in-situ and given away as a postcard to exhibition visitors. A new double-sided work 'Under Wraps' was also made in response to the door windows within the space and installed on site so as to be illuminated by the light within the unusual exhibition space. According to the curators Hewing Wittaire, ‘Odd space’ was an organic show, collaborating with 11 artists, that grew out of the desire to celebrate process and enable development in an informal environment. Some used this exhibition as an opportunity to show works in progress, others created new responsive works within the space. This was a testing ground to show supporting material that would not normally get exposure in a gallery context. |
