| Description: | Future Fashion Landscapes exhibition at the British Textile Biennial 2025 co-curated by Dr. Mila Burcikova and Hester Mauduit, MA. 2/10/25 - 2/11/25, Pendle Heritage Centre, Barrowford. Future Fashion Landscapes is a collaboration between Centre for Sustainable Fashion, University of the Arts London and the South East England and South West England Fibresheds, focusing on fibre production and biodiversity enhancement. It explores the potential of farms operating landscape-specific grazing and restoration programmes with native and rare breed sheep. The exhibition brought together the results of collaborations between farmers and designers, exploring how our local landscapes can inform and inspire what we design and wear. Featuring four case study collaborations between designers and farmers of bioregional wool: Phoebe English, Fabienne Gassmann x Plaw Hatch Farm; ELWIN x Chilton Grounds Farm; Ria Burns Knitwear x Tamarisk Farm and Amelia Brown Knitwear x Fernhill Farm. Photography by Dr. Mila Burcikova. Co-funded by Farming the Future and Arts and Humanities Research Council, part of UK Research and Innovation. |
