A collaboration with Warehouse and TEXTUS to curate the London edition of Warehouse Market, 3-5 April at the Torriano Meeting House in Kentish Town, London. Warehouse is an Amsterdam-based collective dedicated to critical, research-driven fashion and textile practices. WAREHOUSE MARKET is a three-day installation and marketplace bringing together local artists, makers, designers and publishers to share and sell self-made garments, publications and objects. It creates space for dialogue around fashion in context. Previous editions have taken place in Amsterdam, New York and Paris, and this was the first London edition.
Events in London included:
Willie, Esme, Judy and Mel from SWANKY MODES reuniting to lead a Fashion History Walk from Kentish Town to Camden, ending at where the old SWANKY MODES store used to be., Designer Yumo Yuan in conversation, author Jess Cole is reading from Retail Therapy, Dr Christine Checinska, V&A Senior Curator of African and Diaspora Fashion and Textiles reading poetry and Sewing for Justice: Grenfell Memorial Quilt Session
