Type of Research: Show/Exhibition

Description:

Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, The Costume Institute, The Metropolitan Museum of Art (2024)

Contributed to the Costume Institute's spring 2024 exhibition, which reactivated the sensory capacities of historic garments through conservation analysis, artificial intelligence, CGI, and immersive technologies.
Working with digital production studio A New Plane, Digitoile [Kathy McGee] produced 3D digital reconstructions of two pieces from the Museum's collection: the Jeanne Hallée evening dress (1913-14) and the House of Worth ballgown (1887). Reconstructions were developed using 3D scanning, photographic references, and patterns provided by the conservation team, with outputs presented in video format within the exhibition.
