Market Impoverishment, Democratic Choices

This book chapter reflects on critical political economic analysis of markets and media reform and includes discussion of branded content practices and governance. The chapter argues for developing the critique of market impoverishment as a critique of accountability and governance. This appears in a open access edited book that engages with the work of James Curran and Jean Seaton and the mnay editions of their co-authored book, Power without Responsibility.
