| Description: | Co-Kreative Collective marks the third phase of LIFT Project, a practice-led research initiative exploring belonging, community, and creative identity within international educational and cultural environments. Building on Co-Rean and Re-Play Fashion Show, the project expands LIFT from a university-based Korean creative initiative into a UK-wide, community-led network. Developed by LIFT at University of the Arts London, Co-Kreative Collective brings together Korean students, artists, designers, and emerging creatives from UAL, the Royal College of Art, the University of Oxford, and wider creative communities across the UK. Through exhibition-making, curatorial dialogue, and collaborative public programming, the project creates a shared platform for artistic exchange, cultural visibility, and collective participation. It explores how international students and emerging creatives develop belonging through peer networks, shared cultural identity, and creative collaboration. Co-Kreative Collective positions creative practice as a form of civic engagement and cultural diplomacy. By connecting Korean creative communities across institutions and engaging wider UK audiences, it supports mutual understanding, cross-cultural dialogue, and sustained community relationships. The project establishes LIFT not only as an exhibition platform, but as a research-led community model for building belonging, visibility, and collective agency within international creative education. |

| Additional Information (Publicly available): | Externally, LIFT Project has evolved from a Korean student-led creative initiative into a public-facing platform for local, UK-wide, and international cultural exchange, increasingly developing its work through the interconnected practices of civic engagement and cultural diplomacy. Across each phase, the project has expanded its network, audience, and social impact, demonstrating how student-led creative practice can foster belonging, strengthen communities, encourage public participation, and facilitate intercultural dialogue within and beyond higher education. The first phase, Co-Rean, introduced LIFT as a platform for Korean creative identity, cultural visibility, and student-led artistic practice within the university context. Building on this foundation, Re-Play Fashion Show extended the project beyond UAL through collaboration with Goodenough College in Russell Square, connecting LIFT with a broader local and international community. This expansion marked an important step towards civic engagement, using creative activity to bring together students, residents, and culturally diverse communities in shared public spaces. This progression leads to Re-Seed Asia, LIFT Project’s international public-facing programme taking place from 23–25 June 2026 at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London. Re-Seed Asia brings together students, emerging creatives, educators, cultural organisations, industry professionals, and public audiences through exhibitions, workshops, talks, and creative exchange. By connecting creative communities from South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and the UK, Re-Seed Asia expands LIFT’s original Korean community-led foundation into a broader East Asian and UK platform for civic participation, cultural diplomacy, and international collaboration. The programme invites audiences to engage with emerging East Asian fashion, cultural heritage, sustainability, and future-facing design practices, while creating opportunities for communities to exchange knowledge, share cultural perspectives, and participate in conversations around contemporary social and environmental issues. At the same time, Re-Seed Asia strengthens institutional partnerships, industry dialogue, and international creative relationships. By using culture and creativity as tools for communication and relationship-building, the programme contributes to cultural diplomacy at both community and institutional levels, supporting sustained exchange between East Asian and UK-based participants. Through this external development, LIFT Project demonstrates the potential of student-led initiatives to grow into meaningful platforms for civic engagement, cultural diplomacy, community-building, and global creative exchange. It positions belonging not only as an internal student experience, but as a wider civic, public, and international practice shaped through collaboration, cultural visibility, dialogue, and shared creative participation. |
