| Description: | There's a stone in this performance. I seem to be following it. Or is it following me? First Eva Trinkie uses a recorded score of text and sound, relayed via headphones, which act as a prompt for a kind of storytelling and improvised movement. The story is disjointed, full of stops and starts, ums and stutters. It reveals an attempt to articulate an object - to bring it into being (or at least the mind's eye). What happens after remembrance? Seance? Imagination? Speculation? "script-abuse"? Can we go any further? The performance was developed through a game like structure I played with myself on a series of long car journeys between London and Wales this year. The game, if that is in fact what it is, involves taking an object for a 'mental walk' through a kind of "poor forensics" - an exhaustive interrogation of its form and function – its very beingness in the world. |
