| Description: | Outlaws: Fashion Renegades of 80s London explored the creative and cultural impact of London's alternative fashion scene during the 1980s, centring on the legendary nightclub Taboo, a meeting place for designers, artists, performers and musicians who challenged conventional ideas of fashion, identity, gender and performance. The exhibition examined how the club's radical spirit supported experimentation across fashion, art and popular culture, highlighting the work of over thirty influential designers. Accessories from my fashion label, originally worn by Marc Almond, were selected for inclusion in the exhibition recognising my contribution to the fashion movement that emerged from this period. The exhibition positioned this work within a broader narrative of independent designers whose experimental practice helped define the cultural zeitgeist of 1980s. |
