Infinite Topographies

Infinite Topographies is an installation comprising textiles and images on canvas and paper, arranged on a wooden panel measuring approximately 220 × 160 cm, slightly raised above the floor.

I am interested in the concept of time as non-linear—where events and geological changes do not unfold sequentially but instead accumulate gradually and simultaneously. The work questions the conventional understanding of time as a straight line, imagining it instead as a compressed mass in which events and materials coexist, layered one upon another.

The composition resembles an archaeological excavation or site, extending horizontally like a stratified landscape. Here, the ground beneath our feet is not a single contemporary moment but a dense palimpsest, shaped and sustained by countless overlapping events, bodies, structures and materials from different periods of time. At times, the weight of the accumulated material is burdensome; at others, memories, embodied in material form, move more freely between the dark, deep space-time below and the seemingly weightless upper layers or fleeting surfaces.
