The Raw and The Cooked: Life Before, During and After the Middle Ages

From “medieval-core” fashion to the arrival of the Bayeux Tapestry at the British Museum, the medieval era is having a massive cultural renaissance. The Raw and The Cooked brings together eleven contemporary artists who channel these centuries-old aesthetics to explore how historical themes of spiritual uncertainty, folklore, and mortality echo in our present-day societal struggles.

Curated by Harry Jones, this exhibition marks a defiant shift away from the digital and a return to the physical, handmade world. The featured works showcase incredible tactile craftsmanship, spanning leatherwork, metalwork, woodwork, painting, ceramics, and even baking to prove that our impulse to find meaning during times of global upheaval remains unchanged.
