Since the 1980s, curator (Figuring Landscapes, 2010), writer & moving image artist Steven Ball has been making fascinating, formally inventive work across a range of formats & styles that explores the geography & topography of physical landscapes & technological environments. Working largely in London & Melbourne, Ball is a key figure amongst contemporary artists film & video & also played a significant role in Melbourne film culture (particularly for the Super 8 Film Group) during the 1990s. This programme focuses on the provocative & deeply situated work Ball has produced since returning to England in 2000.
