Description: | An Exhibition of 31 drawings at the Gus Fischer Art Gallery, 4 May – 2 June 2007. The exhibition and associated book are an analysis of John Ruskin’s 1857 teach-yourself-drawing-book 'The Elements Of Drawing'. The research question the exhibition aims to answer the question (discussed in the book) is: does Ruskin’s curriculum have a currency beyond historical curiosity in curriculum design today? The exhibition was devised as a part of Farthing’s appointment as The 2007 Hood Fellow at The University of Auckland, New Zealand. |
