Harrison, Elizabeth (2006) Terra Infirma. [Art/Design Item]
Type of Research: | Art/Design Item |
---|---|
Creators: | Harrison, Elizabeth |
Description: | The project was a contribution to the Manifestaties Visual arts festival, Amsterdam. The theme was ‘Terra Incognita’, and an international selection of artists were invited to contribute and make work for the festival, in a former hospital, now housing a community of artists forming a studio and exhibition complex. The over-riding and connecting research interest was the relationship these creative interventions made to space and a spatial orientation. The work needed to connect to its given space and to affect the space, and the space needed to affect the work. Architecture and space are important research considerations. |
