Description: | Although based on the earlier version of Softly Softly from 2015, this became an entirely new work, highly site specific, stemming from its relocation to the Gorrell Tank Car Park in Whtistable - a site that delivered profound levels of research into Empedocles' four elements, the site of the first passenger steam train, former allotments, an underground (still extant) reservoir and the Gorrell Tank Pumping Station. Other themes and narratives included: anthropomorphism, the transitional object (for young children), guerrilla gardening and local history. |
