Description: | With its adaptable typology and almost ghostly ubiquity, pallets have been repurposed as beds, coffee tables, worktops etc. etc., which goes contrary to its original purpose; an essential component of global logistics that enables most of what consume on day to day basis. These complex operations behind the scenes are something we find fascinating. Seemingly mundane things, such as pallets, are often made to serve alternative functions beyond the imagination of its creator, not unlike how paint is used to represent more than what it actually is. With this work the distinction between material and function blurs, opening up new ways of understanding for both. |
