Description: | The output consists of a newly commissioned wall installation, 'Remember Me' running 12m consisting on 122 ceramic plates as well as a 3m related papercut ' Frieze'. This formed part of a solo exhibition of the same name at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, 3 June - 3 September 2017. The exhibition brought together a number of major projects on paper and ceramics: (Grammar of Ornament 2014, Dressed in Pattern 2015-16, & Waves 2010). The exhibition is a further development of artwork that I have made that addresses both the representation of women and my engagement with alternative practices such as ceramics, collage and papercut as alternatives to the hierarchical, often male practice of painting. The work is also a celebration of domestic sphere and how this can be used as a space for re-enactment. It aims to reveal my preoccupation, as a fine artist, with the decorative arts and use of the value of hand craft process. It is my first 'wall' installation of ceramics which serves as an equivalent to a painting on canvas. It is significant as an exemplar of the way that boundaries of craft practice are increasingly porous, drawing from other disciplines including fine art practice. The exhibition consisted of: A 10 minute documentary film commissioned by Wolverhampton Art Gallery showed the creation of Remember Me.
