Description: | The artist was invited to act in the capacity of creative director for Django Django's UK/EU/US tours 2011-2015. Bringing her work with moving image in space, light and performance to a live music context, her stage-show designs include the tour for the band's debut album of the same name (2012) and the follow-up album 'Born Under Saturn' (2014) The tours included over 20 videos created by the artist, lighting design concepts and bespoke set pieces. '(the) stage show...by artist Kim Coleman matched their sound and personality perfectly... truly original with giant sets of open window blinds standing behind the band as a single lightbulb swung hauntingly from side to side, casting a delightfully eerie aura across the stage' 'Stage show and lighting...by Kim Coleman. The show itself was engulfing' 'Monochrome projections of querulous faces, bare swinging light bulbs and Venetian blinds' 'Kim Coleman’s exceptional and in-vogue mystic computer graphics, on stage... comes to great effect. It offers the serrated projected imagery of a creepy, mutating smiley-face, cosmic scenes of intergalactic travel and virtual reality universes where the grass grows purple and the sky is a digitally generated illusion' |
