Phantom Trades: Sea of People, Croatian Pavilion at Arsenale, 57th Venice Biennial

Croatian Pavilion included work by two artists: Tina Gverović (in collaboration with Ben Cain), and Marko Tadić. In Phantom Trades: Sea of People, an installation involving paintings, video and objects Tina Gverović explores different processes, history and materiality, and bodies in transit as moving masses or geopolitical entities. The approach to display and the arrangement of materials in space consider the role of the observer, articulating their fluid, almost performative character of moving through the space.

The work is catalogued in the main publication of Viva Arte Viva – 57. Venice Biennial (ISBN 9788898727087) and in the catalogue of the Croatian Pavilion.
