♀Architects is a portrait series of key female figures of the architectural industry, which seeks to redefine their role in the profession and reveal the often unacknowledged faces of contemporary practice. The portrait series incorporates a cross-section of architects and architecture, which asserts the authorship of the often uncredited female side of the profession in a manner which enables them to be framed by their work, not by their gender.

♀Architects brings a fresh approach to redressing imbalances of representation within the creative industries, asserting the power of the subjects in their own right. The social and cultural issues it confronts highlights issues of hierarchies and the flexibility of roles broadly evident across similar disciplines reaching beyond professional boundaries, and questions the role of the gallery environment and the power it holds to usurp such preconceptions.
