A Cinema of Modernity: Roberto Rossellini’s Paisà

In this talk, addressed to both students and faculty members in the Cinema Studies and Romance Languages Departments at the University of Oregon, Ciammaroni reviewed the contribution of Italian neorealism (and specifically the work of Roberto Rossellini) to the development of postwar cinematic modernism and what is usually referred to as 'European Art-Cinema'.
