Strategy is never enough

An editorial polemic in the education section of an international graphic design quarterly arguing against dematerialization in design. Instead, using David Pye’s ideas around the ‘workmanship of risk’ this text presents a set of arguments in support of specialist and situated knowing, and why making still matters in graphic design and how it opens out possibilities for future practices.
