Groundwork

Groundwork is a performance by Vlatka Horvat in which two performers repeatedly divide and sub-divide the space of the gallery using a pile of wooden planks. Taking turns in a call-and-response structure, they continually make and un-make a series of provisional and temporary pens, enclosures and barricades, constructing a shifting landscape whose boundaries are continually being re-defined.
