| Description: | 'Golden' and 'Golden (Lessons)' were two solo exhibitions staged at Chinese Arts Centre, Manchester and Beaconsfield Contemporary Art, London, in 2006. Golden (2005-present) is an ongoing project comprising a series of works across video, installation, sound, performance, text, and improvised participatory live events. The project seeks to explore nostalgia, aspiration, and possibilities for a critical aesthetics and poetics of place in diaspora. Works (listed as individual Art/Design items) include: Vistas (2005, video triptych); Songs I-VI (2005-17, audio interludes); Years (2006, 2-channel video); Lessons (2006, installation and live events); Golden Hour (2006, audio and broadcast); Mobile Ballroom (2006); Mobile Chorus (2006, 2014, 2017); Golden (Notes) (2007, artist book); Untitled (Pavilion) (2017, installation); Untitled (Shower) (2017, installation); Untitled (West) (2018, installation). |
