| Description: | The exhibition at Ramskram is from the series In Superposition, as well as two older works from the 1980s. In a series titled Vannkanten (at the water’s edge)(1983), Bevan is seen in an act of undressing/ dressing on a rock in Kragerø, Norway. Through a photo-sequence of 16 images, Bevan returns to the start: fully clad but drenched. In the series How my Body Copes (1984), Bevan is concealed in a canvass wrap for 12 hours under a fir tree. This work is documented through a photo-sequence, but Bevan’s status remains unknown, until he is observed once more at the end of the 12 hour period. Bevan’s recent thinking and exploration of the superposition and photography, makes these older works relevant once again. This is the first time these pieces have been shown together. |
