Description: | A silver wall piece. Exploring notions of impermanence, In Progress is a work that is never finished. Tiles of various silver alloys were soldered together creating a patchwork sheet that was worked into an elongated dish form. The plate can be cleaned to a uniform white silver colour, but over time the different alloys tarnish at an uneven rate to reveal geometric patterns and lines of construction. The piece records the passing of time and invites acceptance of change, finding beauty through entropy. |
