Livergant, Elyssa (2009) A Kiss from the Last Red Squirrel. [Art/Design Item]
Type of Research: | Art/Design Item |
---|---|
Creators: | Livergant, Elyssa |
Description: | This solo-performance explores the relationship between love, fear and migration. Its starting point was an audio recording of Livergant's grandmother speaking yiddish, a strawberry jam recipe and an excerpt about the danger of grey squirrels from Country Life magazine. This research is part of Livergant's series of 'Auto-fantasy' performances, concerned with constructions of the domestic and power through the female body, cultural memory and theatricality. More specifically Livergant works on performance that critically and creatively investigates my body s and its (lost) histories as material. Presented in festivals, major venues, and independent spaces in the UK and Europe. |
