Taking Part

Elephant's Trumpet was part of the group exhibition of socially-engaged photography by Eva Sajovic, Gemma-Rose Turnbull, D. Wiafe, and Wright & Vandame. It marked the end of my residency at Photofusion (September 2016 - March 2018).

A selection of materials from the newspapers and documentation of the process of production (meetings, making, disseminating) were made available through an exhibition at Photofusion entitled Taking Part (22 Feb - 17 March 2018). The hope was to reach out, connect and share with other communities facing similar challenges.

By making publicly available a selection of materials produced in collaboration with the community in Elephant&Castle for the Elephant's Trumpet and documentation of the process of production (meetings, making, disseminating) this installation hoped to reach out, connect and share with other communities facing similar challenges.

Coinciding with the exhibition A DAY OF TALKS, exploring how issues related to representation and engagement, intentions and benefits, ethics and aesthetics, and process and product play out in socially engaged photography took place on the 10th March 2018 10am - 4:30pm at Brixton Community Base, Talma Road, SW2 1AS.
