Description: | Permanent Public realm Olympic Gate-ways site-specific commission for Wick Lane Underpass. Transforming civic architectural infrastructure into a navigational sign: Cladding alternate roof cross beams in 3DM Diamond Grade reflective material delineates the underpass roof structure. The intervention is further emphasised when oncoming daylight or artificial light bounces off of the ceiling, transforming the architectural structure into a self-illuminated abstract navigational sign. This is one of the four main cycle routes for the Olympic Games from Victoria Park London. London Thames Gateway Development Corporation’s(LTGDC) are the commissioning client of the permanent art commission for Wick Lane Underpass. The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is the commissioner and MUF are the delivery managers. |
