In Older Men's Wardrobes

Fashion scholarship tends to focus on elite and glamourous topics. Old age is not generally considered either glamourous or elite. Nonetheless, in the last decade, fashion in old age has been site of increasing interest within various disciplines including social gerontology and fashion studies. However, there remains a scarcity of research concerning older men’s everyday dress practices.

In this presentation, Hannah Zeilig and Anna-Mari Almila will outline their recent work which has been exploring the everyday dress practices of a group of three sartorially minded older men.
