Mechanisations of Sleep

Series of gouache paintings. Paintings are made through application of colour in layers. I see these layers as enlarged gestural fragments of a structure, an organic infrastructure or inner-workings and mechanisms of a machine.

Linear drawings of the sleepers at work or workers at sleep are added after the layered backgrounds are dry. Each linear drawing of the sleeper is split and fragmented by the wave of the weave.
