IT ONCE HAD A FACE, NOW IT WANTS ONE AGAIN

IT ONCE HAD A FACE, NOW IT WANTS ONE AGAIN is as a muti-media video installation consisting of a central 7 minute video work plus multiple small wall sculptures and/or 5 additional looped video animations on additional screens arranged around the installation space that extend the concept and aesthetic of the central work.

This work has been presented as a touring solo video installation shows and also as a single screen online show.

This work imagines deep time Post-extinction using bleak humour to speculate on the defiant vitality of matter. Two billion years from now, the oceans are beyond understanding. A toxic soup of leeching plastics, cloth and string, song and dance, collaborate to find new ways of moving in bleak time, with help from Stevie Wonder. The ghost of an oyster holds memories of what happened. It sings to a scrap of waste that fell to the bottom of the sea, trying to form new life, trying to get a face. A defiant burst of song as resistance - Undersea karaoke may still be possible.
